Brazoria County Woodcarvers
This group of accomplished woodcarvers features displays of their work and actual carving techniques as they work on new pieces. Their carvings feature nature-related pieces and other work. Some of the carvings are available for purchase. Stop by and talk to the woodcarvers about their art. Brazoria County Woodworkers meet the second Saturday at 9:30a.m. at the Brazoria County Library, 620 South Brooks, Brazoria, Texas.

TOWST is a group of Dow Chemical employees and retirees which supports wildlife projects for The Dow Chemical Company, Texas Operations, Freeport Site. The members also bring important projects to the attention of Texas Operations management for financial and other assistance. The TOWST display features pictures from the recently donated Dow Woods Unit of the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge and pictures of wildlife and habitat around the Freeport Site.

FBWR is a group of dedicated volunteers dedicated to supporting the Brazoria, San Bernard and Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuges. Gulf Coast Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit organization of permitted wildlife rehabilitators and volunteers dedicated to caring for injured and orphaned wildlife for the purpose of release back into the wild. Migration Celebration Bake Sale

SCT is a marine aquarium, fish hatchery and nature center operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). SCT's visitor center educates through interpretive displays, a “touch tank” and aquariums depicting native Texas habitats including a salt marsh, jetty, reef and open Gulf exhibits. The Gulf aquarium houses nurse sharks, large red drum, gray snapper, Atlantic spadefish, and the state record moray eel. The center offers a variety of educational programs that promote the wise use and conservation of Texas' marine resources.
Texas Federal Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest

Texas Mid-Coast National Wildlife Refuges Complex is the sponsor for the annual Texas Federal Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest. Winning entries from the 2010 will be displayed at Migration Celebration. The Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program (JDS) is a dynamic arts curriculum that teaches wetlands and waterfowl conservation to students in kindergarten through high school. The program incorporates scientific and wildlife management principles into a visual arts curriculum with participants completing a JDS design as their visual "term papers." The JDS has increased in popularity significantly since its inception in 1989 and moreover since the implementation of a national art contest and stamp in 1993. Participation in the program nationwide has remained steady since 2000 with nearly 27,000 students entering a state art contest each year.
Texas Master Naturalist Program - Cradle of Texas Chapter

The Texas Master Naturalist program provides training and volunteer opportunities. The Cradle of Texas Chapter, based in Brazoira County, is made up of people from diverse backgrounds with different experience and expertise pulling together to positively affect the natural environment. This organization provides many volunteers for Migration Celebration volunteers.
Texas Mid-Coast National Refuges Complex Refuge Turtle Patrol

San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge is responsible each spring and summer for patrolling the beaches from the Quintana/Bryan Beach area west to the Matagorda Peninsula area looking for Kemp's Ridley turtle nests. Both staff and volunteers perform this task. This display will feature information on and equipment used for turtle patrol.

Cherie and Glenn McBride create, produce and sell fine art, literature and music. Cherie is a wild bird painter, fine artist and ceramist, while Glenn writes sensitive lyric poetry and music. Their most recent book project is "Tiny Bird Songs" which they developed together. In 2007, Cherie won Best of Show at "Tejas Art and Book Festival." Her entry, "Quintana Blue" took top honors with its rendering of two great blue herons.
